Can I Get My Foundation Repaired in the Winter?

PierMagic is a locally owned and operated Kansas City business whose teams are equipped to handle the harsh Midwestern weather. From the dry and extreme heat in the summers to the thaw/freeze cycle in the winters, the PierMagic team has the equipment to handle all work environments. While many other foundation repair companies near you are hampered by freezing temperatures, PierMagic is not. That’s because we use a different system. Instead of pouring concrete for piers, which won’t set right if it’s too cold, we use the DynaPier® system.

Why the DynaPier System Is Impervious to Weather

The DynaPier® system is poured and cured at the factory, so the temperature doesn’t affect it at all. Our DynaPier® system is constructed in sections. The interlocking, DynaPier® segments are comprised of high-strength concrete that is pre-cast in a steel sleeve. The outer casing is filled with a concrete core and cured for maximum hardness. The pier segments are then hydraulically driven into the ground one at a time. After one foundation pier segment is driven, another segment is connected to the foundation pier, and the process is repeated until the foundation pier hits bedrock. The foundation pier is then topped with a steel cap, and lastly, the house is lifted and secured to the foundation pier.

We Hand Dig Each Pier

Because we hand dig our piers, some customers assume that we can’t work once the ground is frozen. Actually, there are only a handful of days per winter that it is cold enough to prevent us from doing our job. We don’t use heavy equipment so disturbance to your yard is minimal. We can install piers all winter long, and have done this for the past 15 years in business.

Why DynaPier®?

Our DynaPier® system is what sets PierMagic apart from all of the other foundation repair companies. Not only does the DynaPier® system provide superior shear strength and compressive resistance, where we place it also adds to its amazing success. The DynaPier® system is installed centrally beneath the footing rather than outside of the footing, thus transferring the structural load directly on top of the foundation pier. Because it sits below your foundation and rests on bedrock, there is nowhere for the pier to go. Its strength keeps it from bending and its placement keeps it from sheering like offset steel piers. Drilled concrete piers and concrete piling piers don’t go deep enough to reach bedrock, so they aren’t as stable. The DynaPier® system is the only foundation repair system that comes with a lifetime warranty!
