The team at PierMagic Foundation Specialists performed a free assessment to determine an effective solution. It was determined that the home needed a multi-faceted solution, including wall bracing on the foundation footing, waterproofing and drainage solutions.

The Solution

The PierMagic team began by tearing out the back patio, then digging down to the footing of the foundation. This allowed the team to properly install wall braces. Upon completion of this step, the waterproofing process began. PierMagic installed floor drains, an exterior membrane, and a sump pump with battery back-up. This shelled the water issues and eliminated any water from reaching the basement. After the foundation repair and waterproofing was complete, the homeowner asked PierMagic if we could pour a new concrete basement floor to eliminate another company's involvement. PierMagic does offer new concrete pours, and specifically in this case, our crew poured new concrete in the basement and the back patio. The homeowner then asked if we could take it a step further (without involving another company), and asked if PierMagic could install vinyl tiles. We have experience doing so! PierMagic then applied luxury vinyl tile over the concrete floor. The LVT gave the home's basement an entirely new look and feel. With the foundation and waterproofing solutions complete, the homeowner can rest assured knowing the house will withstand another four decades with a new look as well!
